Meg has been with Music in Schools Today since 1989, where she has pioneered arts education management, program development, assessment and active research. She appears frequently on both traditional and new media. A sample of her clients includes Chevron, Grateful Dead Productions, San Francisco Education Fund, San Francisco Opera, San Francisco Symphony, the San Francisco Unified School District and Stern Grove Festival. In the eighties, Meg served as Community Relations Manager at San Francisco Ballet. She serves on the Board of Music in Schools Today, the Advisory Committee of the Music in Education National Consortium and on the Education Committee of the San Francisco Symphony. In her college days, she played ukulele with a girls’ band. In her spare time, Meg rides her horse Concho, and is exploring the integration of culture, nature and spirituality.

Alyson Swihart is a 7th year classroom teacher who holds a Masters Degree in Curriculum and Design. Over the past four years, she has worked with MIENC to design and implement integrated music curriculum in order to research music projects at Thornhill Elementary in Oakland. As a lead teacher of the Music Integrated Literacy Environment Program (MILE), she has provided professional development for classroom teachers and music specialists, in multiple school districts, aiding them in co-teaching, designing, and implementing music curriculum into their literacy programs. She has been working for MUST since 2008.

Raised in Michigan where she studied music from a very young age, Grace has been working in performing arts since her very first job as a camp counselor at Interlochen Arts Academy. Grace left Michigan for Chicago to complete a Bachelor’s degree in Music Business from Elmhurst College, and then went on to obtain a Master’s degree in Arts Management from Columbia College. While in Chicago, Grace had the opportunity to work for Ravinia Festival and the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. Since moving to northern California in 1997, Grace has worked in operations and development for a handful of performing arts organizations including Broadway By the Bay, SFJAZZ and the San Francisco Symphony.

Sophie Huet is a gradate of the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, where she received her Master's of Music in 2009. Prior to her studies there, she earned a Bachelor's of Music in clarinet performance and Bachelor's of Arts in English at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. An active musician, Sophie is a member of the newly formed Wild Rumpus new music ensemble, and has performed with the San Francisco Symphony Youth Orchestra and the Magik*Magik Orchestra. Sophie has also taught clarinet privately for ten years. She also taught English to native French speakers in Paris for a year.
